Fisticuffs at Les Jeannines
The Magasin de Papier has never lived up to its name more than now, throwing open its doors to paper obsessives... to collage, to music, to storytelling. This summer, the Magasin de Papier is in disguise, becoming a temporary home to the Mons-based micro-publishing house "Les Jeannines". They will be delighted to show you their publications and productions, particularly an installation connected with the publication of two booklets about the First World War. "Louis Olivier" and "La rivière" are the imaginary destinations of our great-grandparents and offer a sensitive reading of this tragic period. Through image, text and music, these tales pose complex questions about individual freedom, memory and survival during a conflict that tipped the world into a new era.
